Tails at the pub: Live BTS for a ‘Downton Abbey’ party

With the new Downton Abbey film coming out soon, the WTTW team knew just where to go. For a telethon produced through PBS’s national wing and aired around the country, the production team went to Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood to visit Pleasant House Pub.

From around the city, Downton Abbey devotees flocked to Pleasant House to show off their costumes and take in the general excitement.

The authentic, British-style pub serves real ales, meat pies, and traditional Albion delicacies all in a stunning space. (We previously collaborated with the tavern for our Food of the Victorian Era video earlier this year).

I got to bring audiences behind the scenes as WTTW’s Brandis Friedman and Geoffrey Baer welcomed Facebook viewers for a sneak peak at the exciting nationwide production.
