Hearing in Color is one of my absolute favorite groups to work with. The Chicago-based organization is dedicated to diversifying classical music through innovative and transformative programming.
In the past, I’ve loved stepping in as a production assistant for the group’s chamber opera Undying Love and editing interview footage with some of the organization’s extremely promising composers-in-residence.
In June 2022, I had the privilege of producing and editing Hearing in Color’s evening-length program Latinidad: la gente y la música. Partnering with Hearing in Color and esteemed Latinx leaders in classical music Sebastian Armendariz and Zuly Inirio, I curated in-depth discussions among the creatives, incorporating insights from leading artists and weaving them together with pre-recorded musical performances and interviews to illuminate the multifaceted richness of Latinidad.
The 2-hour product is engaging and inspiring, and features selections from Argentine, Catalan, Mexican, and Venezuelan musical traditions. Immerse yourself in the profound discussions and exquisite music, celebrating the vibrant tapestry of Latin American musical heritage
