It’s the first time something I’ve made has made it to TV!
I teamed up with another WTTW producer and our superstar host Brandis Friedman for the most coveted assignment in town: the James Beard Awards.
Culinary royalty descended upon Chicago’s Lyric Opera House to take part in (and maybe take home an award from) the “Oscars of the Food World.” On the red carpet we saw Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Zooey Deschanel, Rick Bayless, Boka Restaurant Group co-CEOS and co-founders Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz, and Parachute’s Beverly Kim and Johnny Clark.
With a flurry of activity and very little space to get set, we put together a fun segment that captured the nervous energy in the air and nicely underscored the magnitude of the proceedings.
